Hairy situations.
Even the deadlines can't influence me to procrastinate (aka. write) these days.
Let me see. Well this is old news, but I was getting really bored with my appearance so I decided to do something about it. I got a nose job....just kidding!! I just got some bangs cut. I'm reverting back to my days as a toddler (when I had the typical asian kid cut) - I am still getting used to it, as most people can probably tell by my constant fiddling and neurotic pushing of the short strands out of my eyes. When I see myself in photos I don't really recognize myself. You know how you hold a mental picture of yourself, well mine doesn't include bangs. That being said, I can't wait to let them grow out again. I don't know how people deal with them because they seem to have a mind of their own.
A couple of weekends ago we had our prom (ie the formal for first and second year students). It was really good times, apart from the anxiety of getting ready on time and my hair not doing what I wanted it to do - see it's the story of my life! I think that my dress turned out after all of the alterations that had to be made. It was originally a floor-length dress, but I had it shortened to the knee. I think that was a good move given that a long dress would inevitably make me look shorter and would also contribute to the mobility issues that I already had from wearing 4" heels. It's so wonderful to be a woman! I had to turn the size small dress into an extra-small too. Adina was impressed with my handy-work (she saw what the original dress looked like on me). All-in-all it was a good night, with just the right amount of drink, although I wasn't overcome by my vegetarian dinner. It was held at the Arcadian Court, a big step up from the Chestnut Hotel. It was a very large venue with beautiful chandeliers and an old world atmosphere. Although my night ended at 1am, it was definitely a long enough day for me. I'm glad it was just a peaceful and fun night, not like the drama that I found out was going on with some of the first years hehe.
Alright, back to the studying.
